Philosophy and Religious Studies

Philosophy and religion are often discussed as part of the Humanities program since they are both disciplines of the Humanities, but are explored in detail in the Philosophy and Religious Studies programs. Sample courses in Philosophy include ethics, which can be broken down into even more specific courses like business ethics and environmental ethics, as well as logic, critical thinking, ancient philosophy, modern philosophy, Western philosophy and Eastern philosophy. An overview of world religions can also be discussed, though this is more of a course in Religious Studies, which looks at each religion individually, at the effects of religion on other aspects of culture, religious literature and the contemporary state of religion, particularly the issues that challenge it.
