Following the terrorist attacks on the US in September 11, 2001, the United States and various countries all over the world established a homeland security agency, and the Homeland Security/Public Safety program was shortly after incorporated into universities with the goal of molding professionals who could deal with terrorist attacks and other external threats to homeland security and public safety. In the Homeland Security/Public Safety program, you will learn about homeland security and defense policies in your country, about the strategies your government has in place to counter terrorism, about the threat of cyber terrorism, the largest terrorist groups today and the various weapons of mass destruction terrorists are known to use.
