Health Information Systems

Health Information Systems often comes as a course in Information Systems programs which are offered by the Information Technology department, or as a course in Business Information Systems programs under the department of Business. However, some universities offer it as a whole specialized program which focuses on how to create databases specifically for storing healthcare information, such as patient records, health insurance data and hospital billing information, and more importantly, how to manage all these information while keeping them secure and confidential. Aside from the technical aspects, you will also learn about health ethics and laws related to health, as well as the analysis of healthcare statistics and medical terminology.
