Forensics

If you’ve watched the TV show ‘CSI’, then you have a pretty good idea of what you will learn from studying in a Forensics program. Indeed, you will spend most of your time in the lab – nearly every class, in fact, will have a lab activity – where you will analyze fingerprints and run them through databases, identify various hairs, whether human or animal, compare different fibers, identify different chemicals just from their compositions, recognize tool marks, shoe prints and blood patterns, analyze samples of blood, semen and saliva and extract DNA information from viable sources. The rest of the time, you will be studying the basics of criminal law, toxicology, digital forensics and lab safety.
