Science and Engineering

Engineering is defined as the employment of scientific knowledge in the design of various materials, structures, machines, processes and systems, which is exactly what the Engineering program will enable you to do. The type of knowledge you gain and the type of materials, structures and systems you will be taught to create, though, depend on the specialty of engineering that you choose. For example, if you choose chemical engineering, you will learn biochemistry and how to make materials such as artificial molecules, crystals, ceramics, plastics, paper and oil products. On the other hand, if you go with mechanical engineering, you will learn how to design heating systems, cooling systems, manufacturing equipment and even vehicles. Other common engineering specialties include electrical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, applied engineering and building services engineering.
