Drafting focuses on drafting residential scale buildings, which is why it is also called Residential Drafting. It is also closely related to architecture, and in fact, can be used as a pathway to a degree in Architecture, which is why some universities also call it Architectural Drafting. The program covers technical drafting fundamentals and advanced concepts to help you make working drawings, as well as the basics of computer-aided drafting (CAD), surveying, construction theory and blueprint reading. Some universities even teach 3D modeling and rendering for more engaging presentation drawings while others include a course on the basics of shipbuilding.
