The Dental or Dentistry program provides you with all the information and training that you need in order to safeguard the oral health of the public with a focus on diagnosing and treating oral health concerns. Usually, you will begin the program by learning the basic biomedical sciences, such as courses in anatomy, microbiology, pharmacology, genetics, general pathology and biochemistry and then move on to taking specialized courses from various departments of Dental Science, such as General Dentistry, which deals with procedures such as dental cleaning, tooth extraction, dental fillings, Pediatric Dentistry, which deals with administering dental procedures to children, Restorative Dentistry which deals with prostodonthics, orthodontics, dental implants and dentures, Oral Surgery and Periodontology, which studies the supporting structure of the teeth.
