Child Development

Child Development programs focus on the early years of a person’s life, which is when most of the development, whether physical, intellectual, emotional or social, occur. In this program, some of the courses you take will be courses from the Child Care program, such as children’s safety and how to interact with children of various ages, while other courses will be taken from the Early Childhood education program, such as creative activities for children and infant and toddler curriculum. Others, though, are uniquely discussed in the Child Development program, such as working with children who have challenging behaviors, working with children who have special needs and the effect of child abuse and family violence on children.
