Automotive Technology / Mechanic

The Automotive Technology/Mechanic program equips you with the skills you need to work as a mechanic in an automotive garage. You will start with an introduction to automotive technology such as its basic concepts, terminology, common tools used and workplace safety, and then move on to diagnosing and troubleshooting problems concerning the different automotive systems, such as the engine, the automotive lubrication system, the brakes system, the suspension and steering system, the clutch, the different types of motor vehicle transmission systems, whether manual, automatic or semi-automatic, the electronic system and the heating and air conditioning or climate control system. You will also learn about the traditional and alternative types of motor fuel and how these affect the performance of the vehicle.
